This is a personal website and blog. I’m not a corporation, I don’t have a legal department, and I’m not trying to harvest your data. But privacy laws exist for good reason, so here’s what’s happening on this site and what it means for you.
What This Site Collects
If you visit the site: WordPress.com automatically collects basic analytics data, things like page views, referring URLs, browser type, and general geographic location. This is standard WordPress.com functionality. I use it to see how many people read my posts. I don’t know who you are from this data.
If you use the contact form: Your name, email address, and whatever you write in the message are sent to me via email. I use that information to reply to you. I don’t add you to a mailing list, sell your information, or share it with anyone.
If you leave a comment: WordPress stores your name, email, and IP address. This is a WordPress default, not something I set up. Your comment and name are visible publicly. Your email and IP are not.
If you subscribe: WordPress.com handles subscriptions. Your email is stored by WordPress.com so it can send you notifications when I post something new. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Cookies
This site runs on WordPress.com, which uses cookies for basic functionality, things like remembering if you’re logged in or if you’ve submitted a form. I don’t run third-party advertising or tracking cookies. For details on WordPress.com’s cookie usage, see Automattic’s cookie policy.
Third-Party Services
This site is hosted by WordPress.com (operated by Automattic). Their privacy policy covers data processing on their platform: Automattic Privacy Policy.
If I link to external services like Substack or social media, those platforms have their own privacy policies. I’m not responsible for what they do with your data once you leave this site.
Your Rights
If you’re in the EU, California, or anywhere else with privacy regulations: you have the right to ask what data I have about you, request that I delete it, or ask me to stop processing it. Realistically, the only data I’d have is your email if you contacted me. If you want it removed, just ask.
